Refuge of Delayed Souls - The Casting
2 October 2009
Melissa and I have been casting RoYds for the BBC production - I am confident it will happen one day!
Here is the cast so far:

Kevin McKidd as
Stanley Thomas Birch

Aidan Turner as
Grispheran
OR

Richard Armitage as
Grispheran

Rupert Friend as
Tashriel
(Melissa you're a genius!)
OR

Mathew Goode
as Tashriel
(I can see where you're coming from Janoda)

Simon Peg is
Hughie
(blooming genius that Melissa)
Then there's Billy

Melissa suggested Collin Farrell

Sir H suggested Jude Law

Lurker (yes that's you Donna) & Jessica think Tim Roth
Of course there are the other characters to cast too: Elizabeth, Mabel and Gemma to name but a few. It's all such hard work *feigned sigh*
If you have any suggestions of your own please shout out or forever hold your peace :)

This is the best day, ever -- I've been called a genius by Milady *twice*! :D (bows humbly) I've been thinking about these characters all day ... what fun! Happy weekend!

I had to giggle when I got to the Shaun of the Dead guy!

I was thinking ... what would you think of either Rachel Weisz or Kate Beckinsale doing our bad-girl Gemma?

Hi Milady...I haven't posted in eons. Thank you for popping over at my 'Space'. Everything is super fine. Hubby and I spend most of our time running our online business, so I stopped making the fractals for my blog...which has collected unsightly cobwebs and other icky things in the corners.
I love your new template. It's so pretty. I have to catch up, and visit RoYds.

Definitely Rupert Friend, those eyes! Haha as for Simon Peg? There won't be a dry eye in the house. It's like watching Harry Secombe sing, you expect him to burst forth with a silly voice! Right, off to catch up with ROYDS, it's been a while!

This has been great fun - thank you all for the input :)
Melissa - Inspired casting on your account! Going to have a good look at Rachel and Kate...
Charles - He would make a great Hughie - yes?
Deb! - Great to see you and learn that everything is going well. Don't be a stranger - I miss you. Please do have a gander at RoYds & let me know what you think :)
Bimbiebie - Great news! Glad you like 'em :)
Baino - OMG - I know! What a Tashriel he would make lol. Looking forward to your feedback on RoYds :)

You had me at Aidan Turner. :) Simon Pegg is just the icing on the cake. Best of luck to you!

Oh, I like this! :-) :-) :-)
So Stanley has blond hair? Interesting... I wasn't seeing him blond. But somehow, for me, Kevin McKidd is "Rome"... I'll have to make an effort to see him as Stanley...
Yes, Simon Peg is great for Hughie. As for Tashriel, you'd have to toss a coin... :-)

Boriqua - That man would tempt a Saint LOL
Vesper - Stanley has brown hair - we shall have to dye Kevin's or perhaps he dyed it for Rome?
Have you seen the film Dog Soldiers? McKidd is great in that. He also played Bothwell in Gun Powder Teason and Plot. He'll be a fantastic Stanley ;)
